Pairs Competition

Tonight's Pairs Competition resulted in a very exciting conclusion. 5 pairs played in a Round Robin competition. Going into the final group of matches, any two of the four teams playing could qualify for the final. Both matches were level at 2 shots each, going into the final end. The successful teams were David Wallace and Jim Paxton who qualified for the final against Ronnie Peat and Jim Lindsay. The remaining competitors watched from upstairs as a closely fought final was played out below us. David and Jim took the first end with 2 shots. Ronnie and Jim fought back to take the second end with a single. It was Ronnie and Jim who came up trumps in the final end, taking a 3, and winning the trophy. Well done to everyone who took part, it was great end to a good night's competition

week 2 results

Hard to say whether the Stranraer curlers were benefiting from the extra practice or still suffering the after-effects of the weekend! Mara led her rink to a good win over Margaret's rink. Mike's rink has a close game with the rink led by Dave Pittam (skipping in place of David Wallace). A 4 at the last end resulted in victory for Dave's rink

Stranraer Weekend

Fullarton Curling Club descended on the North West Castle Hotel in Stranraer for our Annual Curling Weekend - for some our seventh visit, for others their first! We entered four rinks into the Hotel's weekend competition. We all enjoyed our games, but came against some strong opposition from as far away as Aberdeen, and most results unfortunately did not go out way! However, we had a great time, enjoyed some excellent food, and had fun at the dance and following ceilidh on Saturday night. Provisional booking already made for next year!
