Closing Bonspiel and AGM

16 members took part in a fun Closing Bonspiel last night, with the rink skipped by Bill Inglis being the top team. This was followed by an excellent meal provided by Passion Caterers, and the AGM. President Mike has come to the end of his 2 year term of office, his final duty was to present prizes to this years winners. New President Alison took over the chair, and led discussions on on number of matters. One significant decision was to withdraw from the ICL competition, and enter a team in Ayr CC Day league instead. This will give an opportunity for daytime curling for those who are able to do so. More information on this to follow. Ice request form is being submitted to Ayr CC this week, and teams for the Autumn league will be out before we know where we are!

Prizewinners for the season:

winners of Closing Bonspiel: President Mike with Jim, Campbell, Bill and Roy
Mike presented the Broom to the only member of Margaret's winning rink present, Dave
Alison presented the Salver for the Spring League to Mike and Mabel
Mara presented Mike with his prize for the Points (trophy to follow!)
Pairs winners Anne and Ronnie with Mike

Happy holidays - hope the Spring / Summer weather is good to us, and we are all back on the ice fit and healthy in September

(Mixed) Doubles

We tried our hand at Mixed Doubles last night - only it wasn't quite Mixed,as we had more gents than ladies! No problem, we played it as Doubles. Mara explained the format, and had produced some Help Sheets. 2 groups then took to the ice. Everyone enjoyed the games, once they got their head round 'positioned stones' and who played when! Hopefully we can try this again at some point in the future
Campbell, Jim, Dave and Robin - still smiling after their game

Alison, Jim, Mike and Roy

Ronnie, Alison, Freda and Mike, with their 'prizes' - yes, that's 2 chocolate rabbits that Alison won!
